July 2008

Greetings,
On behalf of all the citizens of Montana, I am honored to welcome you to the 70th annual National Folk Festival in Butte. Butteās rich cultural legacy and the summer recreation opportunities available in the area offer something for every visitor.
The National Folk Festival is an opportunity to experience traditions from across the nation and around the globe. Montana has a diverse tradition of musicians and craftsman dating back to the First Montanans, and we look forward to sharing our piece of that western legacy with all of you.
I encourage you to make the most of your visit to this corner of Montana. Enjoy the fine dining, art and museums in uptown Butte and surrounding communities of southwest Montana, take a trip to the surrounding rivers, lakes and mountains, and take advantage of the peace and quiet that can be found in Big Sky Country.
My best wishes for an enjoyable visit and a big thank you to everyone who made the Festival in Butte a reality!
Sincerely,

BRIAN SCHWEITZER
Governor
