Edna Nicole & Rev. Slim

Delta blues

Greenville, Mississippi

Edna Nicole and Rev. Slim are a Mississippi musical duo whose performances celebrate the rich traditions of Delta blues, gospel, soul, and funk while creating space for community, storytelling, and creative expression. Formed in 2023, their partnership brings together two artists whose experiences and talent span generations but share a common commitment to preserving and sharing Mississippi's musical heritage.

A native of Clarksdale, Edna Nicole draws inspiration from the birthplace of the blues and from a family deeply rooted in community activism. Her soulful vocals, poetry, and songwriting reflect themes of resilience, identity, and cultural memory that connect personal stories to the broader traditions of Mississippi music. Whether performing original songs or interpreting blues classics, she brings warmth, and emotional depth to every performance.

Miles Forrest, better known as Rev. Slim, of Grenada, Mississippi, grew up immersed in gospel music before expanding his career as a musician, producer, and educator. A Grammy-winning artist with decades of performance experience, he has worked across genres while remaining grounded in musical roots that call Mississippi home. His work combines exceptional musicianship with humor, storytelling, and a passion for mentoring the next generation of artists.

Together, Edna Nicole and Rev. Slim create performances that honor the past while embracing the present. Their repertoire reflects the interconnected traditions of blues, gospel, soul, and funk that have shaped Mississippi's musical landscape for generations. Beyond the stage, they are dedicated educators, leading workshops in songwriting, music theory, and music production while encouraging young musicians to develop both their artistic voices and an appreciation for the traditions from which they emerge. Whether performing at festivals, community gatherings, schools, or concert venues with some of the top artists in the region, Edna Nicole and Rev. Slim demonstrate that Mississippi's contribution to American music continues to evolve through collaboration, mentorship, and the sharing of stories in song.
