Join the National Folk Festival Team

The National Folk Festival returns to Downtown Jackson in 2026, continuing a 90-year tradition of celebrating the roots, richness, and variety of American culture through music, dance, traditional craft, and food. The National Folk Festival will feature more than 30 performing groups on five to seven stages with continuous music and dance performances, as well as children's activities, a folk arts marketplace, regional and culturally diverse foods, and more. The FREE, three-day festival is expected to draw visitors from across the nation. Be a part of the team bringing this incredible signature arts event to the city of Jackson!

Volunteer Coordinator

The National Folk Festival seeks to fill TWO (2) contract positions for the festival’s Volunteer Coordinator for the 83rd National Folk Festival in Jackson, MS. This position runs from June 2026 through late November 2026. The time commitment ranges from a few hours a week during the planning phase to a continual onsite presence during the festival itself (November 13-15). This position is offered as a 1099 contract through the Jackson Redevelopment Authority, the festival’s fiscal agent.
