Join us for Soil to Song: A Block Party at Ms. Myrlie's Garden on November 6, 2025

Join us on Thursday, November 6th from 1:00 - 4:00 PM in Ms. Myrlie's Garden at the Medgar and Myrlie Evers House National Monument for a Block Party celebrating community, sustainability, and artistic expression! 

Take in a performance from Delta blues musician and instrument maker Super Chikan, learn about fall gardening with community gardener Ms. Norma, and be inspired by poetry and spoken word from local artists, including students and faculty from Jackson State University (JSU). 

Bring your lawn chairs, coolers, food and charcoal for the grills in Myrlie's Garden, and good vibes as we celebrate the space and community Medgar and Myrlie Evers helped create! 

This event is in partnership with the National Folk Festival, the Medgar and Myrlie Evers House National Monument, the Margaret Walker Center, the JSU Department of Music and the JSU Department of English.
